If you are like many millions of internet users, you have probably often wished for an alternative to Internet Explorer (IE). Contrary to popular belief, the most popular is not always the best - as is the case with Microsoft Internet explorer. Since the beginning of the internet browser, there were two primary competitors, Microsoft and Netscape. Microsoft became the post installed browser because it was included with the Windows operating system. Netscape was the alternative, however it was not common. It was included with IBM OS/2, however that never caught the public's eye. A faster web browser means the browser opens faster, pages load quicker, and add-ons such as flash and media files load faster. Finally, firefox can be fully customized, and there are thousands of add-ons, toolbars, and enhancements that enable the user to tailor Firefox to their preferences and needs. Firefox is essentially community developed and embraces public opinion and public suggestions. There are thousands upon thousands of developers continually contributing and testing firefox. This means we will always have the latest features, and options to choose from.
