Having a website can create a very profound impression on existing clients or potential customers. When an existing client goes to your website they may get so excited about the creativity or how inline it is with your companies brand image or product that the viewer will show it to their friends, co-workers and even family members. It is also an avenue for you to attract new customer that are doing research on the internet. In this instance website presentation is the key because with over 11 billion pages on the web you have to grab your viewer’s attention, at the same time provide the most relevant information about your business within a matter of seconds.

When looking at your existing site or creating a new one there are several things to keep in mind, the best rule of thumb is to put yourself in the viewer’s shoes. What is the main purpose of the website and what information are you trying to get across? Now what is the most efficient way to do that, do you provide all the information upfront, or do you try to entice people to click through every possible page? There is a fine line between relevance and just plain data-dumping on people. Having a custom website is the basic place to start, it allows for movement and growth as your online presence evolves.

Your online presence should be crisp, clean, informative and easy to navigate. A three click rule is a common base to build from, is the information readily accessible within three clicks of the mouse? Tasteful use of flash elements can create a very visually appealing website if there is a lot of information that will be displayed flash will give the eyes something to relax with instead of trying to read all that text. The use of gradients and conforming colors will create a sense of flow and ease to your website, people like sites that are attractive and reassuring.

The internet is a great place for business to create that sense of professional identity for a reasonable price, no more are the days where only the businesses with the top floor corner offices are considered to be the best. With the only measure of a business’s importance online being a page rank, any business can create a very professional site to guide clients to. Just tell your web designer that you want to create a very clean professional site to lend credibility to your already sound business and the sky is the limit.

The use of a custom design company will allow for this, they usually create the site specific to the client and allow for updates and changes versus a what you see is what you get template that will basically create the feeling with your viewers that you have to put much thought into how you want to appear on the web. Anyone who spends time on the internet can tell the difference in a good website compared to a ready made one and having something your proud of is better than having something that your ashamed of. Don't just get a website to have one be proud of the one you get.
